OVERVIEW
Students enrolled in Port Gardner K-12 are public school students enrolled in an alternative public school program. Port Gardner K-12 operates as an alternative school under WAC 392-121-182.
- We offer an educational option with some classes taught by parents/guardians in the home and some classes taught onsite at PGS.
- Our certificated teachers work as partners with home educators by creating individual student learning plans.
- We provide curriculum and training to support successful instruction at home, and offer onsite classes in core academic subjects and electives.
- Our onsite classes each meet once or twice per week, allowing time for schooling at home the rest of the week. High School level classes are credit-bearing and may be used towards earning a diploma through Everett Public Schools.
- Port Gardner students can participate in extracurricular activities, such as sports and clubs at their neighborhood school. We also have a thriving school community with an active PTSA, seasonal events, special speakers, and field trips.
OUR MISSION
Port Gardner School is a parent partnership choice program. We partner with parent educators by offering onsite classes taught by certificated teachers, and providing information, guidance and resources to support home based education.
